Our Mission
America Reset is a non-denominational platform dedicated to the capture and dissemination of innovative proposals for election reform and government efficiency. We believe that civic engagement and representation are fundamental to a functioning democracy, and we are committed to providing a space for visionary ideas to be shared and refined for the collective good.
Proposals for Reform

The president shouldn’t have influence over who gets elected to the legislative branches
Since Congress has the unique checks and balances over the president, the president shouldn’t have any power or control over members of Congress. The president shouldn’t be able to campaign for, fundraise for or in any other way overtly influence or direct funds to any legislative candidate.

Super wealthy individuals shouldn’t have more influence in candidate selection that the average American
Campaign spending should be limited to what an average American could afford to spend in each campaign cycle.

Artificial Intelligence shouldn’t either govern or educate American citizens and strict controls should be established to preventing any AI in those disciplines
All Bills and Laws should be authored by humans in their entirety with no exception. All educational material should be authored by humans in their entirety.

Local elections should be only influenced and decided by those localities
Only those citizens who live within the geographical domain of the office position should be allowed to campaign, fundraise, financial contribute or otherwise exert overt influence over the identification and selection of the candidates who run for local offices. This includes state, county, city and any other office that is defined by and has authority over a geographical area

No Omnibus Bills
The legislative branch needs the tools to have healthy debate on the entirety of new bills. Omnibus builds prevent evaluation and slog dialog on the contents of possible new laws

Limits on executive orders
The president must demonstrate that an emergency situation exists that necessitates side-stepping Congress. If 20 senators challenge that an emergency exists, the order must be defended and passed by a 2/3 majority in an emergency session of Congress
